About Me
Valarie Reynolds knows firsthand what it takes to walk into a classroom without a traditional education degree — because she did it herself. After earning her Bachelor of Science from Angelo State University, Valarie pursued her Texas 8–12 Science certification through alternative certification in 2010, driven not by a résumé requirement, but by a genuine love for chemistry and a passion for coaching volleyball. That combination of grit and purpose defined her seven years in the classroom, where she taught high school Chemistry and served as a head volleyball coach — and earned a Teacher of the Year nomination on her campus in 2015.
Valarie’s story doesn’t stand alone. Her husband also entered education through alternative certification, giving her a personal, up-close understanding of the challenges and rewards that come with a non-traditional path into teaching. That shared experience shapes how she thinks about the people 240 Certification serves every day.
After leaving the classroom, Valarie joined 240 Tutoring as Marketing Lead, where she tells the stories of aspiring educators and helps connect future teachers with the resources they need to get certified. She may no longer be in the classroom, but helping teachers find their way in — that part hasn’t changed at all.
